I enjoy developing a design using bold shapes and colours in Illustrator as well image construction and manipulation in Photoshop. InDesign helps pull it all together to create press-ready artwork.

TBI redesign case study

TBI was a well-established B2B title focussing on the international TV content business, the development, the production and the distribution of drama, documentaries, entertainment formats and children’s programming. MENTION PRINT AND DIGITAL HERE PLUS TBI had over the years launched off-shoot supplements, which having their own identities led to some audience confusion for sales teams - lack of a coherent story XXXXX

A new editorial team with a strong desire to expand TBI’s offering as well as zone in on specific genres, meant complete redesign of the TBI brand including magazines and supplements, website, email newsletters and event collateral - all launching simultaneously. This unified the visual identity of an expanding range of products delivered under the TBI banner and helped drive audience engagement with a subsequent increase in subscription numbers for both print and online products. The complimentary publication of updated brand guidelines.

This expansion of the brand and the increased audience recognition achieved with the successfully coordinated simultaneous re-launch of magazines, supplements, website and daily email newsletters, resulted in improved circulation figures and increased sales revenues.

A common design thread ran through all titles. New mastheads generated a ‘family’ feel and a flexible and modular approach to page design allied to the development of a comprehensive set of brand guidelines meant that new products such as TBI’s Buyer’s Guides and weekly newsletterS
